TP-Link Tapo P100 Mini Smart Wi-Fi Socket (1-Pack)
The Little Plug That Makes Stuff Smart
Smart homes aren’t just about fancy hubs and hard setups anymore. They’re about easy, cheap gadgets that just do what they’re supposed to. The TP-Link Tapo P100 Mini Smart Wi-Fi Socket is a great example.
Want to switch on lights from your phone? Set your coffee to brew automatically? Save some juice? Or make it look like you’re home when you’re not? The Tapo P100 can do it all and practically vanishes after you plug it in.
So, What’s the Deal with the TP-Link Tapo P100?
The Tapo P100 is a small Wi-Fi smart plug that can make any normal outlet smart. Just plug it in, hook it up to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, stick your stuff into the plug, and boom – you can control it from afar and make it do things automatically with the Tapo app (iOS & Android).

Why the Tapo P100 Still Rock
1. Seriously Small – No More Cluttered Outlets
Unlike older smart plugs that hog space, the P100 is made to be tiny. You can fit two P100s next to each other on a regular outlet or power strip. This alone makes it way better than most of the others.
2. No Hub Needed – Easy Peasy
No extra box, no Zigbee, no complicated setup. Just your Wi-Fi. Most people can set it up in under a minute.
3. The Tapo App Doesn’t Suck
The Tapo system is simple and works well:
- Turn things on/off from anywhere
- Set a timer or countdown
- Make schedules based on time or sunrise/sunset
- Away Mode makes it look like someone’s home
- Want energy tracking? → Nope, get the Tapo P110
- Supports scenes and automation
4. Works Great with Alexa & Google Home
Just say “Alexa, turn on the Christmas tree” or “Hey Google, kill the bedroom light” – and it does it. No need to enable skills or anything.
5. Actually Safe
– It won’t overheat
– Made of fire-resistant stuff (UL94-V0)
– Has a cover to stop kids from sticking things in it
What People Usually Use the Tapo P100
1. Christmas Stuff
Make your lights turn on at night and off at 11 automatically. Use Away Mode when you’re gone to make it look lived-in.
2. Coffee in the Morning
Have coffee ready when you wake up without even getting up. Use a schedule or just tell it to turn on.
3. Old Fans, Heaters, Etc.
Make anything without smart controls controllable.
4. Bedroom Lights
Turn off all the lights with one tap or voice command when you go to bed.
5. Keeps Bad Guys Away
Away Mode turns lights and the TV on and off to scare off burglars.
6. Limit Kid’s Screen Time
Plug the game console or TV into a P100 and make a schedule. No more fights.
